About Pechette Studios

Please note: The studio has moved to a great private location right off Central. Only minutes from the old space in the Hilton Center. More details and pictures comming soon.

Here you will find more specific information about how I do things here at Pechette Studios. The new studio consists of 3 rooms; a 10x12 drum and vocal room,a comfortable control room and a shop/working kichen. The rooms are separated by a 3x6ft window so I can achieve good isolation while maintaining visibility. Commonly bands come to the studio to record a “live” demo. This is when all of the members play at the same time. This usually works quite well since my system is capable of recording 24 channels at a time. The best results come when instruments are tracked separately with a click track, but that is usually a more time consuming process. I do have many instruments available and everyone is welcome to use any of them. They are listed individually on the equipment page. When you come here to record, you will not find any outlandish extra expenses. You pay 25 dollars an hour for all services, the ONLY thing I want you to do is bring your own blank CD’s. If you forget, or you don’t have access I will provide them at a reasonable dollar per CD.

History

Pechette Studios is a self run, self maintained studio. It started out in my parent’s basement with just a PC and a Peavy 12 channel powered mixer from 1980 (or something). The first recordings I did of other bands I did for free or very cheaply. The first major project was a freebee for my friend Brian Meade. He had some songs he wanted to do a "good recording" of, so we spent a few days in the corner of the basement and made it happen. Its not really a very good recording, but we thought it was. After that, we dove head first into the last Chunkx recording. This was summer of 99, so I was still an amateur when it came to recording. But, we still had fun and that recording lives on in the bottom of garbage cans across Saratoga! What really got the ball rolling for me was a free demo I did for Tear. We got together and in one night recorded a 5 song demo. Considering that we did 5 songs in one night, and the quality was not the greatest, that demo gave Pechette Studios enough exposure to attract most of my clients today.
